Carolyne Jacobs is a multidisciplinary artist and educator whose work is a vibrant reflection of her global perspective and deep connection to the natural world.
A seasoned world traveller, Carolyne’s creative practice is a constant dialogue between her formal training at CTI Clonmel & the National College of Art & Design (NCAD) in Dublin and the profound aesthetic influences she has gathered from her time spent across the globe, particularly within the African continent and South East Asia where she has further studies in traditional textile art.
Artistic Practice and Style
Carolyne’s work is a celebration of light and movement, characterized by a bold use of vibrant colour and rhythmic design. Her style seamlessly merges the Fauvism of Henri Matisse with the symbolic power and organic patterns found in African textile traditions.
As a versatile practitioner, Carolyne fluidly moves between mediums to achieve rich, tactile surfaces that evoke both the rugged beauty of the Irish landscape and the warmth of the African sun. Her portfolio features:
